Voice session workflow guide
Use one local binder from the first authorized cue to the final selected-file receipt.
Start with authorization and a backup
Confirm that you may handle the script and recordings. Create a blank project, choose a stable project code, and download a checkpoint before a long session. Browser storage is convenient, not a durable archive.
Keep recording outside the browser
Open a session slate, move cue by cue, and log take metadata only after your DAW stops. The workspace does not request microphone permission, play media, or alter source files.
Freeze only after local reconciliation
Select one take for each required cue, resolve pickups, run filename and WAV/AIFF header matching, review every finding, then freeze the delivery record. Confirm the actual transfer and acceptance separately.
Worked example
Open the Orchard Signal evaluation and the project is deliberately mid-flight rather than tidy. One hundred cues are imported, three night-survey sessions are complete, two hundred and thirty-six takes are logged, and delivery freeze D001 already exists as a clean baseline. Since that freeze, four things have gone wrong on purpose: cue C017 was amended to a second revision, so its selected take now points at superseded script text; cue C042 is sitting in issued pickup round P02 with no response yet; cue C055 has had its selection cleared and is required; and the selected take for C090 carries an expected filename of CON.wav, which is a reserved device name on Windows.
That is what the guide is for. Working the stations in order surfaces all four before anything leaves the building, and none of them are visible from a folder listing.
Method
The workflow is nine stations in a deliberate order: session, cues, intake, takes, filenames, pickups, preflight, delivery, projects. Each station writes one kind of record and refuses to write the others, so a filename decision cannot quietly become a take decision and a pickup cannot quietly rewrite the session it came from.
Everything the tool records is metadata. Recording, listening, editing and mastering stay in your own audio software, which is why the desk never asks for microphone permission and never opens an audio file beyond a bounded header read.
What this does not do
- It does not record, play, decode or assess audio.
- It does not decide rights, consent, union status, compensation or permitted use.
- It does not transmit files, and a frozen record is not proof of delivery or acceptance.
Do this in the app
Work the stations in order the first time; skipping ahead hides exactly the findings the order is designed to surface.
- Start at station 01 Session, confirm you are authorized to handle the script, and download a checkpoint.
- Move cue by cue through stations 02 to 07 without leaving a station until its findings are read.
- Freeze at station 08 Delivery only after every finding has a decision.
